Dojo Etiquette

    1.    Always Bow in and out of the Dojo
           This shows respect to the training centre, acknowledges it as a place of learning

    2.    Always address the instructor by their title
           This shows respect and acknowledgement of their efforts and achievements

    3.    No shoes in the Dojo
           Unless approved by the head instructor, you must leave your shoes outside the training area, this enables to training surface to remain clear of debris and safe to
           train on.

    4.    Respect the dojo and it's equipment, place all equipment back in their homes, always clean up after your mess
           The foundation of learning is to respect the tools and environment that you learn with and in.

    5.    Respect your fellow students, regardless of age or rank.
           Our dojo is our home, the students and instructors are your family.

    6.    No swearing or spitting
           Cursing is the weakness of self restraint and Spitting is a health hazard

    7.    Never walk infront of a higher grade - You must walk behind them
           Your safety is important to us, we may not see you suddenly appear infront of us when we are about to perform a technique or gathering focus.

    8.    Never question, threaten violence or issue a challange to a high rank (Your instructors)
           This might not end well for you, very seldom is there a happy ending that occurs next..

    9.    Respect your belt, grade, Gi
           This represents your Spirit, Mind, Heart and your Family.

    10.    No talking - except to respectably answer a higher rank
            Only discuss topics concerning training, the dojo is a place of learning.

    11.    No yawning, food (especially gum) or drink in class - water may be allowed by your instructor

    12.    No rings or body jewerllery
             You have a choice, you can remove them yourself painlessly or they can get caught in clothing or tecniques and be removed painfully - your choice!

    13.    Never lose your temper
             The difference between training in Martial Arts and Thugs, is that as a student you learn to control your temper and can control your opponent.


Any violation of the Dojo Etiqquette can and normally will be met with disciplinary action including the following:

           1.    Push ups, Sit up and Star jumps
           2.    Suspenstion from training, sparring, tournaments or seminars
           3.    Disqualification of club membership
